Kent Stoddard

Kent Stoddard is currently a member of the Fire Commission and is seeking re-election in November.

Kent is a lifelong resident of Newington and a 48-year member of the Newington Fire Department. He has a BS degree in Business and Administration from Norwich University. He has been married to Melanie Nelson Stoddard for 45 years. They live on the family farm in the north end of town. They have two children Jessica Haggerty and Daniel Stoddard and three grandchildren Riley, Kelsey, and David

Kent has been a volunteer and leader in Newington all his life. He coached Little League Baseball, Babe Ruth Baseball, women’s softball and youth basketball. He is a leader at the Church of Christ Congregational in the center of town. Kent is a Mason and the president of the local lodge (Sequin-Level) building committee. He is a Shriner and the treasurer of the Sphinx Shrine on the Berlin Turnpike.

Walter A. Brideaux, Jr.

Walter is seeking to serve on the Fire Commission.

Walter is a lifelong resident of Newington. He attended the Newington School system and graduated from Newington High in 1969. Walter went on to earn a BS in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University. He has been married to his wife for 46 years and has two daughters who also graduated from Newington High School.

Walter worked for over forty years in the accounting field. He joined the Newington Volunteer Fire Department in 1971 and served 47 years as an active firefighter.
